Recognized for excellence in vacuums by Amazon

We’ve Been Recognized!

We know it’s not nice to brag, but we recently got some exciting news that we
simply have to share with our blog readers.

Our Amazon Marketplace store was recently honored by Amazon for being one of the top sellers during the 2012 Holiday Season. This means we were not only tops on Amazon vacuum sales, but we also were among the top 25 percent of all sellers on Amazon in terms of sales volume. In addition, we also received an A+ rating on our customer feedback posted from those who bought our vacuums on Amazon during November and December 2012.

Amazon vacuum cleaner sales award
You may find it surprising that Amazon vacuum sales are high around Christmastime, as a new vacuum may not seem like a popular gift, but we’ve found
that sales of vacuums on Amazon and GoVacuum.com increase each year when people start Christmas shopping. This is not only because of gift-giving, but also
because many people decide to upgrade their vacuums to get their house squeaky clean before decorating. We also sell a lot of vacuum accessories and vacuum bags
on Amazon once Thanksgiving rolls around.

So what exactly made up our stellar sales of vacuums on Amazon? A lot of things, but our ZVac HEPA filters on Amazon sell particularly well. ZVac is our own brand
of generic HEPA filters, which are available for much less than many conventional brands. Our filters meet all OEM specifications and work with models from some of
the biggest manufacturers, including Hoover, Dirt Devil and Kenmore. We also have plans to start selling ZVac vacuum bags on Amazon and on GoVacuum.com in the
near future.

We’re very proud of our Amazon sales results and are hoping to have another strong year on our Marketplace store and our GoVaccuum.com e-commerce store. We couldn’t have done so well without the help of our customers, particularly the readers of our blog who tell their friends and family about our Amazon sales on vacuums and our
great customer service. So from all of us here at GoVacuum.com to you, thank you for your support and for your business!

Wine Festival & Vacuum Recycling Event Near Washington DC ( District of Columbia )?

Washington DC area residents, what do you get when you cross my two favorite things, wine and vacuums? Besides me and a lonely Saturday night as a bachelor, you get a fun filled Saturday! What are you doing on the 27th of October? No plans? Why not start the day off by visiting us for our vacuum festival? Okay, vacuum festival is a bit of a stretch, let’s call it a vacuum recycling event!

So hop in your car with your old vacuum, broken or working, and leave Washington DC to head down route 50! After selling us your vacuum and/or buying one from us at the BIGGEST SALE we’ve ever had in 35 years, why not drive a few miles down the street and have fun at a wine festival? We’re just minutes from many Virginia wineries. Why am I trying to suggest heading to a winery afterwards? Well besides the fact I’ll probably end up there after our vacuum recycling event, I fear you won’t show up just for the vacuum recycling event, so I’m trying to entice you with wine.

I don’t even know that there’s a wine festival this weekend, but I do know Chrysalis Winery is just a few miles away and it’s always beautiful countryside scenery that makes for a great break from Washington DC’s political landscape. Oh, plus there’s also the National Air & Space Museum just down the street if you’re heading over with family! The point I’m trying to make is this… If you live in or near Washington DC, please attend our event! I’ll even have the gold and priceless vacuums on display so you can get a photo with each for FREE!

So my Washington DC and surrounding area residents (that includes you too Maryland), please note there is no trick to Vacuums Unlimited’s (AKA GoVacuum.com) biggest sale in 35 years. There is also most certainly a treat for customers and the environment this year with a recycling event just in time for Halloween. Vacuums Unlimited (of GoVacuum) and Forever Green Recycling are pairing up for a big recycling event festival in Virginia this October (just outside Washington, D.C.). This one-day only sale and recycling event will be Saturday, October 27th, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Is this a wine festival with music for Washington, DC area residents? Hardly! There will be no wine at this festival and it’s hardly a festival, it’s a recycling event! Don’t worry District of Columbia area residents, there will be music playing (just no bands). What gives then?

Well, Vacuums Unlimited will be having their biggest sale on vacuums, air purifiers, carpet cleaners and more! Open boxed vacuums, customer returns, re-boxed, refurbished, rebuilt, and more, during this event only are being liquidated! No rain checks will be dispersed for items on sale as the sale includes only items in stock.

Who knew that recycling could pay off? And could even take that old clunker of a vacuum out of the closet to free up some space? For this recycling event, Vacuums Unlimited will be offering store credits for vacuums in any condition, that old clunker that has not worked in years can earn a customer a neat $20 store credit. The vacuum in the back closet that still sometimes works but makes a whining sound could be worth up to $50. This store credit can also be used towards the machines on sale!

Just bring the vacuum down to the parking lot of their vacuum showroom and warehouse in Chantilly, VA 20151; located at 14500 Lee Road, Unit G (just 20 minutes from D.C & 45 minutes from Baltimore). After the vacuums have been purchased by Vacuums Unlimited, they will try to rebuild your vacuum and give it a new home to clean up. In the event they can’t repair the vacuum, they will strip the vacuum for reusable parts. The parts that cannot be retrieved for reuse will be recycled next door with Forever Green Recycling.

Customers can also bring in other various electronics to be recycled with Forever Green Recycling; click here for a more complete list of items. There is no need to fret over whether or not the vacuums and electronics will end up cluttering the landfill because of Forever Green Recycling’s 99% no-landfill policy.

Vacuums Unlimited and Forever Green Recycling have certainly come together with a different take on the idea of less-is-more, with less landfill clutter and more benefits for the customer and the environment. If you cannot make it for the event but still want to recycle your vacuum, check out their new recycling program.

There will even be a FREE raffle for a Hoover vacuum cleaner! No purchase or vacuum to sell to Vacuums Unlimited required, just stop by and pick up a ticket and they’ll email you if you’re the winner! So if you’re in the Washington, DC area and looking for a unique and fun festival event on the weekend to hit up, check out the first ever Vacuums Unlimited vacuum recycling event that’s just a 20 minute drive from Washington DC & just minutes from many wine festivals at local wineries!

GoVacuum Celebrates Thanksgiving & SuperMans Birthday!

I was laying in my new giant memory foam LoveSac at my house all comfy and content. I was tired after adding The New Miele S6 Vacuums to our website and filming videos much like the new S6 Miele Red Velvet video below… (What? Act like you don’t rock out to a little Prince every now and then too!)

Then reality struck, the phone rang and I was told to be at work for something important at 1pm. It’s 12:30 I told the GoVacuum misfit that called me, he said “big boss mans orders”. Grrrrrr…

I arrived at 1pm, expecting to be told something epic like our Black Friday, Small Business Saturday & Cyber Monday Deal of The Miele Twist SALE For Only $399 was off or something. Nope it’s still only $399, but for a limited time only.

Anyhow, what was going on? THANKSGIVING that’s what! We had a Thanksgiving celebration, plus it was one of my favorite misfit’s Birthday! Rupak AKA SuperMan (for what he does for GoVacuum on a daily basis) had his 17th (that’s what he claimed) Birthday party… GoVacuum style.

SuperMan is one of those guys who is always on the ball, ensuring orders are placed, processed, everyone works well together and just about everything else under the roof. I’m not trying to build my buddys ego up, but between him and his son (who also works at GoVacuum) there is nothing that can’t be done. His friendly attitude and attention to detail ensures the wheels of GoVacuum stay moving. Furthermore, his hard work ensures I can do fun things… like work less ;)

So we had our Birthday and Thanksgiving feast, I ate some Turkey and ironically we had red velvet cake. The turkey made me tired so I returned back home for a much needed “nap”. I did pose for a picture with another misfit and the new Miele S6 vacuums (this way big boss man thinks I actually worked… Mamma didn’t raise no fool! An eccentric slacker… yes, a fool… no!)

Now… back to The Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade and eggnog… after all, I’m celebrating this day with family… lucky me… HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE! justin@govacuum.com

The Ari Gold Rule For Buying A Vacuum!

Thank you HBO for letting me live life vicariously through the television show Entourage for the last several years. Ari Gold you sir have inspired me. Your witty one liners always made for a good laugh. You inspired me so much after the first show, I came up with the Ari Gold rule for buying a vacuum.

Also known as the agent rule, but the Ari Gold rule sounds so much more awesome! It’s what’s known as a OJC, that’s short for Original Justin Creation. Yes, kinda like a Jersey Shore GTL type of abbreviation, because that’s just “The Situation” (although due to recent developments beyond my control (the new buffet down the street) my 6 pack of abs are more less a keg, so I guess my pseudonym is “The Complication”).

The Ari Gold rule of buying a vacuum is simple, Ari Gold always protected Vinny and his best interest. That’s his job. What did Vinny do for Ari? He paid him his managers fee, 10% of the total investment known as Vincent Chase, was paid to protect that investment. That’s it!

If you use the Ari Gold rule to buy a vacuum, you spend about 10% of the total cost of your flooring on a new vacuum cleaner. Let’s say you have hardwood, tile and carpet that totals $7,000.00 throughout your house. That means about $700.00 would be a reasonable amount to protect that investment.

Does that seem high? Not really when you think about it. For that cost you can buy a great Miele vacuum cleaner that should last about 20 years or more, about the same length of time your flooring should last. Furthermore a good vacuum will always have your floors looking their best for even 20 years from now.

Does buying a $100.00 Bissell vacuum really make sense just because it’s cheap to protect a $7,000.00 investment? Look at it this way, your home is your biggest investment, your flooring is one of the most expensive items in your home.

If you rent an apartment or only have about $1,000.00 in carpeting, then yes, a cheaper hoover vacuum about $100.00 might be a wise choice. Just remember most $100.00 vacuums won’t last 2 years, yet alone 20. Also note: most that claim HEPA filtration don’t truly filter what they claim. If you have bad allergies only buy an EN1822 certified vacuum if you have allergies.

In conclusion, Don’t forget the Ari Gold rule when buying a vacuum cleaner and remember… GoVacuum, your one stop source for all things vacuum related! Call us today at 888-468-2210 and a vacuum genius will guide you as to what vacuum cleaner is best suited for your cleaning “Situation”.

Wanna read more OJC’s? Check out our main website, I’ve got many on there. Have a question about what vacuum is best for you? Email me justin@govacuum.com. Also don’t forget to like this blog on Facebook below!

Happy Birthday John!

Life can be hard… life can be good… days can pass… years can pass…

Life is currently good, because I have a job where I can have bloggers block (is that even a term like writers block?) and still make it look like I did some work! I can’t take all credit for this, I have to thank John for turning another year older.

That’s right, the wise old gray fox is another year older. I won’t say how old, not because John would get upset (I don’t think upsetting John is even possible), but because it’s classless to call someone out on his age who played and sung with Pebbles and Bam Bam as a child. Nope, that’s just not my style.

So, Happy Birthday to the man who is always there with a smile to answer a question about a hard to find vacuum part, the man who is always there to lend a joke right when you need it most, the man who has been with this company before there was a Internet, back when computers didn’t even have a hard drive… before the Apple Macintosh was released in 1984! Yes, YOU John! Happy Birthday!

To celebrate and ensure (not the drink he should be having one a day of at his ripe age) it was better then the first 53 he had (I tried not to Buddy, I really did!) the owners of GoVacuum.com had a Birthday Party for the gentile geriatric. We even had most of the misfits sing a form of Happy Birthday to him… if you can could call it that, immediately followed by a Birthday lunch they had catered… yeah… life’s hard for all GoVacuum employees!

To further the festivities, I had an idea to give John a bottle of Metamucil for a Birthday gift, but this was shot down and replaced by us all shopping at GoVacuum.com, because it really is the worlds greatest vacuum cleaner website! Want proof?

John got a box of deodorizing vacuum scent tabs so he doesn’t start to use mothball crystals in his vacuum which so many do at this point in their lives, another coworker gave him a Cen-Tec DustUP Flexible Bend & Reach Micro-Fiber Duster With Extendable Handle so he can dust without bending over and hurting his back and another gave him a GoVacuum gift certificate.

As I frequently say… point of the fact is this… John, my friend, your winning attitude, extensive product knowledge and genuine friendliness, has lead to you becoming a local legend in the vacuum business… which I think is a compliment?… and it’s a pleasure for the three hours you claim I work everyday, to work with you! :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Do you have a great story of how John helped you? Want to wish him a Happy Birthday? Email me! Yes me… Justin! Because if I only work for 3 hours a day, I need to at least make John think I’m working for the full 3 hours! Ideas? Comments? justin@govacuum.com

Me, Myself & Irene… & a Looj…

So… after the great earthquake shook us just outside the nations capitol in Virginia, Hurricane Irene decided she would make an appearance (The striking of both at the same time shall be known as a QuakeAcane from now on).

We got some pretty good rain and a lot of wind, but we can’t complain as no one in the GoVacuum family was hurt or got flooded. There is damage around the area (checkout the neighbors new car across the street from my parents house about 40 miles away), but the worst we got here at the GoVacuum World Headquarters was a lake outside the office which is suppose to be a “drainage system”.

Hurricane Irene was not a joke, many people have died and lost their homes. We are very blessed that we didn’t get the worst of it. Due to the damage and flooding, we have had a huge increase in extractor sales and have place one of our best selling Royal 7910 extractor on sale at $100 off & 10% off the sale price (use coupon code royal10) to help in the clean up.

In an effort to always try and look at the bright side and turn a negative into a positive, I took home a very cool product to play with last night! Yes, maybe I’m still that 16 year old kid who works at KB Toys, who is just happy because I got to play all day at work (somethings never change), but this toy is awesomely cool by everyone’s standards!

OK, drum roll please… the product I’m blabbering on about is the remote controlled gutter cleaning robot! Yes, IRobot the makers of the Roomba 560 robotic vacuum cleaner and the Verro 330 robotic pool cleaner have come up with it! Officially known as the IRobot Looj 125 Gutter Cleaning Robot, but unofficially known as the funniest thing we sell on GoVacuum.

Here is how my night went down, I got home and took it out of the box, it was only then I discovered how radical this robot is! It… it’s… it’s got a wireless remote control!

I was instantly taken back to a time when I raced my Tyco Zero Gravity tack cars and my Tyco Turbo Hoppers!

Yes, I was reminded of a younger youth, but now I’m older and my toys are much cooler. I mean the Irobot Looj 125 has tank tracks on the bottom nothing from the late 80′s had that, did it? I placed the little Looj on the floor and started it up. It zipped across my floor and the front auger that was spinning at 500 rpm’s slapped and smacked the tile. My eyes lit up and I immediately ran (yes, I actually ran) to the shed to grab a ladder.

As I placed the ladder up on the gutter I thought to myself, I don’t know if it will actually clean the gutter really well as we just had a little taste of hurricane Irene and the leaves are wet. Nonetheless, I zipped up the steps and cleared out about a two foot section of leaves, then I lowered down the Looj and grabbed the remote (this is where I will recommend not have the Looj aimed to cross under the ladder or you will end up covered in wet leaves and debris, not cool, but something I did).

After saying a few things that would cause my mom to grab a bar of soap to clean my mouth out, I proceeded to clean my face off. Then restarted the little Looj. I was in awe as I watched it crawl down the gutter. I can’t describe how cool this thing is! It’s like you are a coal miner tunneling for diamonds or coal. It’s just flat out FUN to use!

As a gutter cleaner this thing is fantastic! The front end flaps around and the leaves fall down and on the ground, I would buy it alone for the fact it works, that and my fingernails take forever to get the grime out of after gutter cleaning. I mean forget the fact it’s really cool! As an actual product the Looj is worth every penny!

The only problem was my gutters were cleaned in a couple of minutes. I was kinda disappointed that I had to stop playing with it… or did I?

Before I knew it I was racing it on the driveway, the farm cat and turkeys thought it was fun too! I tried to shoot a video, but it was dark out by that point, but here is the official video.

Ladies, wives, girlfriends, do yourself a favor… buy this for your man! He will leave you alone for hours playing with the new beloved toy and your gutters will be clean, all year around (just because it’s fun) and for just $129.95 how can you not buy it? It makes the perfect Birthday or Christmas gift… Just be warned of karma, for you might receive a vacuum as a gift on valentines day!

If you have a Looj and shot a cool video? Have a Irobot Looj 125 review? email it to me justin@govacuum.com, or if you want to buy one, or ask me any questions… email me! got an idea? Email Me!!! :)

Shake, Rattle, Roll… EARTHQUAKE… in Virginia?

Well… yesterday started off as a normal morning for me, I woke up, I did my normal morning routine of exercise, shower and eat breakfast… and then… an earthquake!

I’ve been getting behind on blog entries so I decided the night before I would write one yesterday about the Miele B990 Rotary Iron Mangle we started selling recently.

When I was ready to walk outside I realized, WOW! It’s really an incredibly beautiful day with perfect weather, so I had only 2 choices, call in sick (but I don’t do that unless I’m really sick, as karma would ensure I’d get a rare form of illness) or take the day off. Now… this is where my creativity came into play. I called the big boss man and explained my dilemma, he told me to just work from home writing for ½ the day. I LOVE MY JOB!

So the mood was set for a great blog entry, hammock – check, laptop with wifi – check, big glass of EdenPURE 2000 filtered water – check, sunshine and 70 degrees – check… earthquake centered about 50 miles from my home– check!

Here’s how it went down, I was just finishing up the blog entry and all of a sudden I heard what I thought was my stomach growling, then it got louder and I thought it was a train, but I live in the country where there’s not a train for miles, just about then the hammock started to swing. I looked up at my house and noticed the chimney dancing around. It took a couple of moments for me to realize what was happening, then I jumped up and ran inside the house (now, I know what you’re thinking, hey kid genius you’re suppose to run outside during an earthquake not inside!). I know to stop, drop and roll, but this is only my second earthquake, thus I’m still learning.

As I got back inside the basement, it stopped. That was it. I looked around, a few things fell off the shelf, but nothing broke. I questioned myself, did we just had an earthquake? No way!

I called my loved ones and then tried the GoVacuum office and warehouse, but the phone lines were not working. I texted and got a reply that everyone was alright, no injuries. I figured at this point, I should go into work, but the fear of an aftershock derailed my intent of riding my motorcycle. I was excited to get there, as I knew I would hear some cool stories about the earthquake centered approximately 70 miles from our warehouse.

One of the funniest is how, an employee I call Superman just bolted out the door, he just stood up from his desk and ran outside (maybe I need a lesson from him on earthquakes). The other was how Michael was taking an order and looked outside at the surrounding buildings and blinds shaking then turn back and continued to help a customer who ordered the wrong bags.

The big east coast earthquake 2011 made for some fun excitement at GoVacuum. Then I walked through the warehouse. I was reminded of how lucky we are no one or stock was damaged, but then I walked to the back corner where we keep our returned inventory, floor demos and open stock vacuums and air purifiers. Well… so much for no damage!

It turns out we had more then a few machines fall from the shelves in this area. So much for my easy going relaxing day, as the rest of the night was spent inspecting the packaging, the contents and making sure they all turned on and operated properly. Luckily they all are fine and in great working order! The boxes took all the damage. Just one problem, now we have to sell them and the owner would prefer sooner then later! So he has done something he has never done before, he is allowing YOU the customer to name your own price!

He told me to make a list of not just these fallen few plus all of the open stock and returned machines that have been inspected and “sell them fast”… so as of today we are having our official GoVacuum.com “Earthquake Of Savings Sale”!

These prices are so low we can’t list them online at our website, as many manufactures will only allow us to sell at a certain price on our website, if we offer it for less online they will not allow us to sell their vacuums anymore. Yes, even if they are open stock items! The solution? Call US! Just pick up the phone an call us! You WILL save money!

That’s right, if you call GoVacuum at 888-468-2210 we can let you know what vacuum for your cleaning situation we recommend and we will check to see if we have it in open stock. The owner has authorized deep discounts as he wants these machines to be sold ASAP! (I think he is worried about hurricane Irene now!) There has never been a better time to invest in your home and air quality then right now!

Call 888-468-2210 Today! You have 30 days to return the machine if you aren’t 100% satisfied with your purchase! I mean, you are dealing with GoVacuum.com the most pro-consumer and best vacuum cleaner website in the world!
