What is the best vacuum, really?
Ok, so what IS the best vacuum?
Since the deep-cleaning and gift-buying season has now arrived, we’ve seen a sudden increase in the same kinds of questions around here. On the phone, through our website, and in our stores, everyone wants to know: What IS the best vacuum, really?. The simple answer? In canisters, we recommend Mieles. For uprights, the SEBOs. If you’re tired of messing around with a mediocre or downright frustrating vacuum, check out the Mieles or SEBOs, and finally experience what a REALLY clean home feels like.

Don’t Sit Around in Dust. Enjoy Your Winter!
Winter is coming (and for some of you it’s already here in full force). That means most of us are going to be spending more time indoors than usual. Why not make your home a pleasant place to be? It’ll be less stressful when family and friends stop by, too, if your home is already in decent shape. We’ve got tons of deep cleaning tips in our newsletter archives, including stain-fighting tips and Spring-cleaning advice (not just for the Spring!). Check them out for ideas on how to get your holiday cleaning started and to make sure you’ve got all your bases covered. Below, we’ve also got some quick tips you can use to make your major cleaning session less of an ordeal.
- Keep it clean. Sure, you do a thorough vacuuming once or twice a week, but with regular quick clean ups you can make the time in between less dirty, and keep your allergies in control (if you have them). It doesn’t have to be hard! With stick vacuums, sweeping can become a chore of the past, and you can keep your carpets cleaner longer. Do a quick brush up while on the phone, and you won’t even notice that you’re cleaning. Or just cave already and indulge in a robotic vacuum — they’re not just for geeks anymore.
- Pick it up when you see it. If you see stuff lying around, why torture yourself and remind yourself that you need to clean soon? Just pick it up now and put it away. Don’t worry about the rest for now. The one pick up takes a second, but the effort will add up.
- Just do your dishes. It really won’t take that long (especially if you have a dishwasher) but it’ll do wonders for how clean your kitchen looks.

The Competition is Nasty
We’ve already got some utterly revolting entries in our “Talk Dirty To Me” Story Contest, but there’s still some time (just 5 days left!) for you to enter and try to out-gross even the worst of what we’ve got. Check out the comments posted so far, for some laughs, some ughs, and/or to submit your own story. But, uh, I wouldn’t recommend reading the stories around lunchtime.
Note: For the months of November and December this year, we will be sending you this newsletter twice a month, as opposed to our usual once a month. Starting in January, we will be going back to our once-a-month schedule.
